Intercultural Training for University Students (PART 1/3)
The first test you will face when studying abroad is adaptation. If you don't get through it, nothing else will move forward. Have you thought about that?
In this 3-part course, within 10 modules you will discover new and revolutionary tools for understanding your life abroad, about what can happen to you and to those you will interact with. Studying abroad also means living in another country, and one's expectations do not always match those of another. Your attitude and perception of the world can be a risk or success factor for your adaptation. Likewise, what happens to those who stay and those who receive? Understand the involvement of other people and how they feel affected by your presence. You will learn to create a healthier and more sustainable relationship throughout your journey abroad with the people you meet based on understanding the psyche of each people. Which country are you going to and what can you expect in terms of behavior from them? And from yourself, in the process? And the best part: it will surprise you with concepts you have never heard of, but that will bring you a deep understanding and valuable insights to make your exchange worth every minute.
In this first part you’ll understand what is intercultural competence, how it can assist you during your stay abroad, what is the emotional state of someone moving abroad, and how this can affect the success or risk factors of the program. In this module, reflect on the foundational aspects of having a successful experience and be surprised by the importance of the relationships between those going, those staying, those receiving, and those sending in influencing the outcome of your stay.
Available in English audio with options for subtitles in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Korean.

What makes this course different?
Moving to another country to go to college is not only a great opportunity – it is a challenge that can define the success of your academic and personal experience. After all, it is not just about learning a new language or attending classes in another country, but about building a new life away from home. And this adaptation can be much easier (and more rewarding) if you have the right resources within you.
Our training was created for those who want to arrive abroad with greater confidence, avoiding common mistakes that make adaptation difficult and frustrating. With a dynamic approach based on Intercultural Sciences (Intercultural Psychology & Intercultural Education), we teach how to deal with cultural differences, overcome social barriers, manage emotional challenges in the face of university pressures that take into account learning models different from yours, and transform any difficulty into growth.
You are about to experience the most transformative years of your life – and we help you do it in the best possible way.
