Intercultural Training for Au-Pairs (PART 1/3)
Are you preparing to live and work abroad as an au pair, but did you know that the key to a successful experience goes beyond childcare? Our Intercultural Au Pair Training is exactly what you need to ensure your journey is positive, enriching and balanced.
In this 3-part course, within 10 modules you will prepare yourself to understand and deal with cultural differences, strengthen your communication with the host family and children, and, most importantly, manage the responsibilities of the au pair job in a calm and efficient way.
You will learn to develop emotional and practical skills that will make it easier to live with your new family and your new environment, as well as improve your adaptation to the local city and culture. We will help you create a harmonious relationship with your new hosts, while preserving your own well-being and autonomy.
Each part of the training gives you a glimpse of important knowledge and understanding, but only the full experience unlocks the complete picture. To truly master cultural adaptation, watching all 3 parts is essential.
In this first part you’ll understand what is intercultural competence, how it can assist you during your stay abroad, what is the emotional state of someone moving abroad, and how this can affect the success or risk factors of the program. In this module, reflect on the foundational aspects of having a successful experience and be surprised by the importance of the relationships between those going, those staying, those receiving, and those sending in influencing the outcome of your stay.
Available in English audio with options for subtitles in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Korean.
