Intercultural Training for Adult on Short-Term Programs (PART 1/3)
In this 3-part course within 9 modules you will discover new and revolutionary tools for understanding your life abroad, about what can happen to you and to those you will interact with. How your attitude and perception of the world can be a risk or success factor for your adaptation. Likewise, what happens to those who stay and those who receive? Understand the involvement of other people and how they feel affected by your presence. You will learn how to create a healthier and more sustainable relationship throughout your journey abroad with the people you meet based on understanding the psyche of each people. What country are you going to and what can you expect in terms of behavior from the people there? And the best part: you will be surprised with concepts that you have never heard of but that will bring you a deep understanding and valuable insights to make your exchange worth every minute.
This training is designed for you — your exchange and your success abroad, dramatically reducing risk factors, bringing peace of mind and confidence to deal with what lies ahead. Each part of the training gives you a glimpse of important knowledge and understanding, but only the full experience unlocks the complete picture. To truly master cultural adaptation, watching all 3 parts is essential.
In this first part you’ll understand what is intercultural competence, how it can assist you during your stay abroad, what is the emotional state of someone moving abroad, and how this can affect the success or risk factors of the program. In this module, reflect on the foundational aspects of having a successful experience and be surprised by the importance of the relationships between those going, those staying, those receiving, and those sending in influencing the outcome of your stay.
Available in English audio with options for subtitles in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Korean.
